Bambu is a nickname for the Indonesian rain forest, and when rain hits this rain forest, the ground becomes waterlogged and all different kinds of animals come out to explore. This book tells about how animals like macaques leave their shade within this jungle to warm up in the sun during these times of extreme rainfall. Hujan Darah Di Tanah Bambu is an Indonesian children's book written by Hermawan Tjahjanto and illustrated by Mutiara Damayanti. It tells about lush jungles in Indonesia which are home to many different types of animals, such as gibbons and monkeys, celebrating each other during heavy rains when they leave their trees for warmth under the sunlight. The book has been translated into English and published by Bibi Fadilah in 2012.Hermawan Tjahjanto, the author of Hujan Darah di Tanah Bambu, was born in September 8, 1966. He graduated from Department of Indonesian Language and Literature at the University of Indonesia.He is a founder and a director of Manis Pena Art Gallery in Jakarta which focuses on children books illustration classic arts of Indonesia and ASEAN countries. He is also a Chairman Commissioner of ASEAN Children’s Book Award . In 2011, he published an illustrated book entitled "Insects" which received The Best Children Book Award from the International Institute of Children’s Literature. In 2012, Bibi Fadilah translated his book Hujan Darah Di Tanah Bambu into English and published in Singapore. Mutiara Damayanti was born in Surabaya, East Java in 17 December 1973. She graduated from Faculty of Fine Arts at the Surabaya Art Institute (ISI). She has been illustrating children books since she was 21 and she is a member of Illustrators Society Indonesia (GAPPI) since 2007 to now. She illustrates stories about animals which is liked by children, especially young readers. She has worked with many well-known publishers in Indonesia, including Gramedia Pustaka Utama, Cetakan Pertama, Mizan Group Books, etc. She has exhibited her illustrations in Gallery Sehati, Jakarta since 2012. She also illustrates the cover of the book "Antara Siksa dan Hidup" , written by herself about how she witnessed her father passed away due to illness.The book has been translated into English and published by Bibi Fadilah in 2012. The story goes that one sunny day, gibbons, langurs, monkeys, birds, frogs and almost all animals in the jungle waited for it to rain so they can have a day of adventure. However, the jungle didn't receive any rainfall so the animals got worried. Suddenly rain fell down from the sky. After that it stopped raining but then started to pour again. It became extremely heavy that all animals had no choice but leave their forest to find shelter in places where it is much brighter. At first they were afraid to leave their homes because they thought there are fierce storms in the outside world but when they found out that there is no more thunder or lightning, they felt safe to play under the sun. cfa1e77820
